What you're basically paying for..

Fur in your eyes, fur in your teeth, fur in your lunch three weeks later, and the kind of deep clean afterwards that makes us look slightly unhinged.

Short Coat

What we actually do

When your dog comes in for a short coat de-shed groom, we begin by giving them a chance to settle in. If it's their first visit with us, arriving around 10 minutes early can help allow a little extra settling time before we begin.

Once your dog is ready, we bathe the coat in warm water using products chosen to suit their skin and coat needs. We use a range of quality shampoos and conditioners, including Smith & Burton, sensitive options, deodorising shampoos, conditioning treatments, de-shedding products, and flea shampoo where needed. If your dog uses a medicated shampoo, you're welcome to bring it in and let us know on arrival.

After bathing, we dry the coat using the method that best suits the dog in front of us. For de-shed grooms, drying is an important part of the process because it helps lift loose coat, dander, and debris away from the skin and coat.

Once the coat is dry, we work through the dog thoroughly to remove built-up loose hair. Short-coated de-sheds are usually less about clipping and more about getting dead coat out properly, so the coat feels cleaner, lighter, and more comfortable. We also include nail clipping as part of this service.

Before pick-up, we make sure as much loose coat as possible has been removed, and that your dog is comfortable, fresh, and ready to go home feeling cleaner and lighter.

Why we do what we do

Even short-coated dogs can hold a surprising amount of loose dead coat. When that coat is left sitting there, it can shed constantly through the house, cling to the skin, and leave the coat feeling flat or dusty.

A proper short coat de-shed helps lift that loose coat out, refresh the skin and coat, and reduce the constant layer of hair that seems to end up on everything you own.

Who is this for?

This is ideal for short-coated dogs who shed heavily, dogs blowing coat seasonally, and owners wanting help getting on top of loose hair before it ends up all over the house.

Recommended breeds

Short coat de-sheds are often a good fit for Labradors, Pugs, French Bulldogs, Beagles, Staffies, Boxers, and other short-coated breeds that shed heavily.

Long Coat

What we actually do

When your dog comes in for a long coat de-shed groom, we begin by giving them a chance to settle in.

In long-coated de-sheds, this step matters even more because drying helps separate the coat, lift out trapped loose undercoat, and make it easier to properly work through the coat from root to tip.

Once the coat is dry, we brush through it thoroughly and work through the undercoat to remove the loose hair that gets trapped deeper in the coat. This helps reduce bulk, improve airflow through the coat, and leave it feeling lighter and easier to manage. We also include nail clipping as part of this service.

Before pick-up, we make sure the coat has been worked through properly and that your dog is ready to go home feeling fresher, lighter, and much less likely to drop half their coat around the house.

Why we do what we do

Long coats can hold onto loose undercoat much more easily, especially when that coat starts packing in underneath. When this builds up, the coat can feel heavier, become harder to brush through, and trap more heat, dirt, and loose hair than it should.

A proper long coat de-shed helps reset the coat by removing that trapped loose hair, improving comfort, and making the coat easier to maintain between appointments. It can also make a big difference to how much hair ends up on your furniture, clothes, and floors.

Who is this for?

This is ideal for long-coated or double-coated dogs who carry a lot of loose undercoat, dogs who are blowing coat seasonally, and owners wanting to reduce heavy shedding while keeping the natural coat intact.

Recommended breeds

Long coat de-sheds are often a good fit for Golden Retrievers, Border Collies, Shepherds, Huskies, Spitz types, Samoyeds, and other long-coated or double-coated breeds.

Optional add-ons available

You can customise this service with optional extras such as teeth brushing, fragrance, ear cleaning, conditioning treatments, fur masks, paw balm, and anal gland checks where appropriate.

Good to know

This service is designed to remove loose coat and undercoat, not to clip the coat short. Regular de-shed appointments can help reduce shedding, but they will not stop natural coat drop completely.
