What you're basically paying for..
A full-groom amount of effort squeezed into the little detail areas that somehow make it look like we've done nothing at all.
What we actually do
When your dog comes in for a mini groom, we begin by giving them a moment to settle in. If it's their first visit with us, arriving around 10 minutes early can help allow a little extra settling time before we begin.
Once your dog is ready, we bathe the coat in warm water using products chosen to suit their skin and coat needs. We use a range of quality shampoos and conditioners, including Smith & Burton, sensitive options, deodorising shampoos, conditioning treatments, de-shedding products, and flea shampoo where needed. If your dog uses a medicated shampoo, you're welcome to bring it in and let us know on arrival.
After bathing, we dry the coat using the method that best suits the dog in front of us. Some coats benefit from a high-velocity dryer to help remove water, loose coat, dirt, and dander more thoroughly, while other dogs do better with a lower-velocity dryer for a calmer, less stimulating experience.
Once the coat is dry, we brush through it properly and move on to the maintenance areas that usually need attention first. A mini groom focuses on tidying the face, feet, and sanitary area, rather than doing a full body clip. We also include nail clipping as part of this service.
Before pick-up, we make sure the key tidy areas are finished, the coat feels clean and manageable, and your dog is comfortable and ready to go home looking fresh and neat.
Why we do what we do
A mini groom helps maintain the areas that usually become untidy the fastest. Keeping the face neat can help with cleanliness and visibility, tidy feet can reduce mess and coat build-up around the paws, and a clean sanitary area helps with comfort and hygiene.
Because this service includes a bath, dry, tidy-up work, and nails, it gives dogs a proper refresh without needing a full body groom every time. It is a practical option for owners who want to stay on top of maintenance and keep their dog comfortable between larger appointments.
Optional add-ons available
You can customise this service with optional extras such as teeth brushing, fragrance, ear cleaning, conditioning treatments, fur masks, paw balm, and anal gland checks where appropriate.
Who is this for?
This service is ideal for dogs who need maintenance between full grooms, dogs who grow messy around the face, feet, and hygiene areas, and dogs who do not yet need a full body groom.
Puppies and first grooms
A mini groom is often a great place to start for puppies, as it helps them get used to bathing, drying, brushing, handling, nail work, and table time in smaller, more manageable steps.
Recommended breeds
Mini grooms are often a good fit for breeds and mixes that need regular upkeep around the face, feet, and sanitary area, including Cavoodles, Spoodles, Maltese crosses, Shih Tzus, Bichon types, and other dogs kept on a regular grooming schedule.
Good to know
This service is designed for maintenance between bigger appointments and does not include a full body clip or full restyle.
