Intro Groom
A calm, gentle introduction to grooming for puppies, nervous dogs, and first-time visitors. It is designed to help them get used to the environment, the grooming process, and us. The service follows the shape of a mini groom, but at a much slower pace, with extra time for breaks as we introduce each step in slow and steady mode.

What you're basically paying for..
A babysitter, a dog trainer, a therapist, a psychic medium, and a magician โ all before we've even finished the first part of the groom.
What we actually do
When your dog comes in for an intro groom, we begin by giving them time to settle in and take in the space around them. This first part matters just as much as the groom itself, because the goal is not to rush straight into everything, but to help your dog feel safe, comfortable, and able to process what is happening.
If it's their first visit with us, we recommend arriving around 10 minutes early so there is a little extra time to settle before we begin. We want our space to start feeling familiar and predictable, not rushed or overwhelming.
The service itself follows the shape of a mini groom, but at a much slower pace. Depending on the dog, that may include a bath, drying, brushing, tidy-up work, nails, or simply getting used to handling and the grooming environment. We introduce everything slowly and steadily, with extra time for pauses and breaks where needed.
We work at the dog's pace as much as possible, paying attention to what they are coping well with and where they may need more support. Some dogs may complete quite a bit in one appointment, while others may need shorter, simpler sessions to build confidence first.
Before pick-up, we make sure your dog leaves feeling as settled and comfortable as possible, even if the biggest win that day was simply getting through the experience calmly.
Why we do what we do
We do this to help create a positive memory around grooming from the very beginning. By keeping the pace slower and giving dogs time to process each step, we can help our space become familiar, safe, and enjoyable to come back to.
Building that trust early often makes future grooming easier, calmer, and more comfortable for everyone. A good intro groom is not about pushing for the perfect result on day one. It is about helping dogs learn that grooming can be a manageable and positive experience.
Optional add-ons available
Optional add-ons may be discussed where appropriate, but for intro grooms the main focus is usually keeping the experience calm, positive, and manageable for the dog.
Who is this for?
This service is ideal for puppies, first-time grooms, nervous dogs, rescue dogs, and dogs who need a gentler start to the grooming process.
Recommended breeds
Intro grooms can suit any breed or mix, especially puppies and dogs who are new to grooming or need extra time to build confidence.
Good to know
We recommend allowing a little extra time before and after an intro groom. More time adds more value to this kind of appointment, because it gives your dog space to settle, process the experience, and leave on a calmer note. The goal is not always to complete everything in one visit. Sometimes the most important part is simply helping your dog feel safe, calm, and ready to come back again.
